Pets in the Home

Research has shown that pets offer emotional, physical and mental benefits to the elderly. At Crescent House we actively encourage family to visit with their pets, if they feel this would be appreciated by their loved ones.

In addition, we have pets in the home.

Ruby is a Jack Russell and she is a soft friendly animal. She is often found wandering the home and making friends with the residents.

Wilfred is quiet unassuming cat, often found curled up in a corner fast asleep.

We also have two Shetland Ponies that live in our paddock area during the summer months. Our ponies are mother and her foal (who was named Star by our residents).

We often have visiting ewes and lambs for several weeks in the Spring and have had ducklings which were incubated and hatched from eggs.

Sheep

Our paddock is bordered by flat pathways and seating areas so that our residents can enjoy all our animals.

Consideration is always given to prospective residents wanting to move in with their pet and is considered on a case by case basis.
